Taipei Metro Tower Awarded LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance

Taipei Metro Tower, where FENC is headquartered, was recognized in 2025 by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) of U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) with the LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance. Having devoted continuous efforts in refining facility operations and management of existing buildings, Far Eastern Group (FEG) has been acknowledged for its achievements in sustainable building management and environmental stewardship. To attain this certification, the Taipei Metro Tower management team integrated operational and facility management resources and inventoried, optimized and standardized the energy efficiency, water resources management, green cleaning protocols and sustainable procurement systems across the facilities, which have been integrated into daily operations to fulfill FEG’s commitment to implementing eco-friendly management practices.
The LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance focuses on the sustainability performance of a building during its actual operation. The evaluation encompasses critical dimensions such as indoor air quality, cleaning and purchasing policies, as well as the health and well-being of building occupants. Taipei Metro Tower received high marks across scoring categories, including energy performance, operational systems and sustainable management, meeting all certification standards with top scores across multiple indicators.
